Acceptable use policy

Rules that protect people, rights holders and the service from illegal, deceptive, abusive or unsafe uses of image-editing tools.

Effective · Last updated

01

Scope and responsibility

This policy applies to the web application, API, SDKs, integrations and generated results. You are responsible for your users, applications, source images, instructions and distribution of results, including when a contractor or automated system acts through your account.

02

Rights, consent and attribution

Process only material you own or are authorized to modify. Obtain consent where an image or edit implicates privacy, publicity, biometric, confidentiality or similar rights. Do not remove a watermark, logo, signature or attribution to falsely claim authorship, conceal provenance or evade a license or payment obligation.

03

Illegal and exploitative content

Do not use PixMender to create, transform or facilitate child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation, trafficking, credible threats, targeted harassment or content whose possession or distribution is unlawful. Any sexual content involving a minor, or a person presented as a minor, is prohibited.

04

Fraud and deception

Do not create counterfeit evidence, forged documents, deceptive identity materials, fraudulent listings or misleading before-and-after claims. Do not use edited images to impersonate a person, obtain money or access, evade verification or mislead people about material facts.

05

Privacy and surveillance

Do not identify, track, expose or infer sensitive information about a person without a lawful basis. Do not submit private or confidential images obtained through intrusion, coercion or unauthorized surveillance, and do not use the service to facilitate doxxing or discriminatory profiling.

06

Security and platform abuse

Do not probe, scan, overload or disrupt PixMender or its providers; bypass authentication, rate limits, credit accounting or safety controls; distribute malware; scrape non-public data; share stolen credentials; or use the service as a proxy for unauthorized access.

07

High-impact uses

PixMender results must not be the sole basis for decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, education, legal rights, medical care or access to essential services. Do not present restored or generated detail as a verified record where accuracy affects a person's rights, safety or reputation.

08

Enforcement and appeals

We may reject content, limit processing, preserve relevant records, revoke keys, suspend an account or report activity where reasonably necessary to address a violation, legal request or imminent risk. Enforcement considers context, severity and repeat behavior. To appeal or report abuse, email [email protected] with relevant URLs or job IDs and a clear explanation; do not send unlawful material by email.
